I had, write a book on my bucket list for several years. Retirement provided me with the time and opportunity. I have enjoyed reading since the age of twelve. Whilst my reading material has changed over the years, the stories that keep me wanting to turn the next page are the ones I enjoy. I wanted to write a book where the villains would be despised by the reader. Whilst the reader would support the hero and feel her actions were justified, despite her torturing her attackers and killing them violently. I hope you think I achieved that.

Sexual assault is a dreadful crime, I have tried to minimise the references to the assault to only include detail that supported the storyline. I wanted each of the murdered men to die in a way that reflected the sadistic nature of their crimes on Sakura and her mother.

In the beginning I felt my effort was amateurish and there were months where I wouldn’t write at all. At night I would think about the book and characters and ideas would begin to flow reinvigorating me to continue. It took me a year to complete and whilst I know my writing skills are still amateurish I have enjoyed the process. I hope you enjoyed reading my first story of Sakura Bianchi. I have since finished writing the second book in the series. In this story Sakura works to shut down a human trafficking operation in Japan.
